Horizons Foundation Philanthropy Series 2004
LGBT Philanthropy: Taking Care of Yourself and Your Community

Presented in collaboration with the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice, Changemakers Northern Trust, Poulos Brothers, Resourceful Women, Social Venture Partners Bay Area, The San Francisco Foundation, and The Women's Foundation of California

2004's eight-part series of workshops was again geared toward philanthropically-minded individuals and couples in the Bay Area who give to the LGBT community. Horizons' LGBT Philanthropy Series aims to enhance the overall quality and quantity of philanthropy from individuals through providing educational sessions and donor networking opportunities in a solicitation-free space. Horizons' mission is both to support LGBT organizations in the Bay Area as well as to grow local LGBT philanthropy. These sessions were devised to help LGBT and allied donors become more strategic in both their individual giving plans, as well as more knowledgeable about the mechanisms available for charitable gifting, and their particular applications for LGBT people and family structures.

This series was supported in part by The California Endowment, The Evelyn & Walter Haas, Jr. Fund, The Ford Foundation, Levi Strauss Foundation, Northern Trust, The San Francisco Foundation, and The United Way of the Bay Area.
