Nonprofit leaders, especially in community organizations, face nearly impossible demands, which can lead to isolation and burn-out. In response, Horizons launched our Strategic Partners Program (SPP) to provide mutual support, individual coaching, and skills building for leaders of "anchor" community organizations from across the Bay Area. Equally important, the SPP is stitching together a network among organizations to facilitate collaboration. The SPP has been so successful that Horizons started a second cohort in December 2003 focused on leaders of smaller, emerging organizations.
