Honoring Chamique Holdsclaw
We are ecstatic to honor women’s basketball superstar and advocate Chamique Holdsclaw with the Champions Award in recognition of her outstanding achievements as a sportswoman and her advocacy work championing mental health.
On a full athletic scholarship, Chamique played for the perennial women’s basketball powerhouse University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers and Hall of Fame Coach Pat Summit. She led the Lady Vols to three straight NCAA Championships, for the first time in women’s college basketball history. Chamique would go on to be the #1 pick in the 1999 WNBA draft and win an Olympic gold medal with Team USA at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
Chamique’s contributions on and off the courts have made a significant difference and inspired so many folks across the world.
