General support for the Transcendence Gospel Choir (TGC) - a music ministry and a gospel choir whose membership consists entirely of transgendered and intersexual individuals. TGC provides positive images of transgender people as respectable persons of faith; accepted and contributing members of church families; healthy, confidant and self motivated members of society; community members living responsible, ordinary lives; successfully recovered drug users; and sex workers successfully transitioned to become working professionals. Because transgendered people throughout history have played significant roles in spiritual worship, TGC strived to empower that community and reclaim that calling
