As your LGBTQ community foundation, Horizons is hosting four virtual Regional Town Halls as part of our Horizons Forum series. These Town Halls are designed to bring our community together—more specifically, to help you connect with local LGBTQ nonprofits and provide a platform for you to discuss important local issues. Now is the time to unite, share resources, stand in solidarity, and learn how you can help yourself, your neighbors—and others—navigate this challenging environment we face together.

We are fortunate that the nine counties of the SF Bay Area are home to a vibrant network of LGBTQ nonprofits and programs that are vital lifelines for our communities, offering support, resources, and advocacy. But our LGBTQ community now finds itself at a crossroads, with mounting threats emerging from multiple fronts. Recent actions by a far-right presidential administration are turning many LGBTQ fears into harsh realities. The anti-human rights movement of Project 2025—especially regarding LGBTQ and women’s reproductive rights—along with even more extreme measures, are now being implemented, eroding our safety, rights, and freedoms. These threats compound the daily struggles LGBTQ people and families continue to face, regardless of who occupies the White House.

The reality is that our LGBTQ rights movement has always faced adversity, and yet, together, we have overcome formidable challenges and unrelenting foes. Through unity, standing up for our rights, and celebrating our lives—out and proud—we have made, and will continue to make, meaningful progress for our LGBTQ community and its liberation.

Together, we will move closer to realizing Horizons’ vision: a world where all LGBTQ people can live freely and fully. Join us, stand in solidarity, and learn about the nonprofits working in your area. Find out how to access services, support your community, and, most importantly—stay connected.
